Welcome to the PE Guy Blog!

Hello, and welcome to the official blog of the PE Guy Podcast! I hope that you will find this blog as well as my podcast to be entertaining, educational, and helpful wherever you are on your fitness journey.

My name is Ben Walker, and as of the 2020-2021 school year, I have been teaching physical education for 14 years. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Human Performance and Kinesiology- Physical Education from the University of Alabama 🐘, as well as a Master's of Arts in Sport Management- also from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!!). I chose to start this blog, and my podcast, for a number of reasons- mainly: I have a genuine interest in all aspects of health and fitness, and I love helping others to better understand what it takes to be healthy and fit- that's why I chose to be a physical educator. But, I noticed over the years of teaching kids, that they were getting misinformation and sometimes just flat out bad advice in a lot of aspects when it comes to their health. So, I decided to try educate not just them, but the generations that came before- and anyone else who would listen, really 😁 on what it takes to be healthy.

My goal for this endeavor, therefore, is to create a kind of physical education for adults, for lack of a better term. I want to educate you, the busy parent that has noticed that your pants are a little tighter than they used to be, or that it is more difficult to carry the groceries into the house, or anyone else that would like to improve any aspect of his or her health. Since I learn about health and fitness for fun, I would like to bring to you, the consumer, the information that I have found helpful in my own fitness journey, as well as any new information that I learn from day to day, in an entertaining and enlightening way.

So, check in often to find new posts about health and fitness and how to improve it. Also, be on the lookout here for new podcasts every week.

Talk to you soon,

Ben
